To the Toppermost
of the Poppermost!

“Where are we going, fellas?” — John Lennon would ask. And they'd shout back: “To the Toppermost of the Poppermost!”

What began as a simple collection of dates has become a sanctuary dedicated to historical accuracy — the most complete open chronology of The Beatles and their solo careers.

A word from the archivist

“After years alone in my corner building up a collection, I decided to very humbly distribute a work that I am doing on Excel — a file which attempts to bring together the most exhaustive possible chronology of the Beatles… without forgetting to inventory everything I have about the post-Beatles era.”

For this, Gilles gathers all dates and locations of concerts, radio and television broadcasts, interviews, recording sessions, demos, films — and keeps them up to date regularly. Official discographies of UK/US albums are assiduously mentioned, alongside unofficial releases for a more complete classification.

“Of course, I know there is still a lot to do — but isn't that the point? Make this work known so that you can help me, correct it too… Thank you to all of you, enthusiasts of all stripes, for your attention.”

Our mission

A digital sanctuary dedicated to
preserving musical history

Toppermost is more than a simple database — it is a rigorous chronology built by researchers, historians and devoted fans. Every event, every recording and every interview is sourced to guarantee absolute accuracy. The goal is accuracy over completeness.

From the first Quarry Men concert in Liverpool in 1957 to the most recent solo releases, every entry is catalogued, dated and sourced — freely available to anyone who wants to explore it.

Editorial note — Toppermost is an independent project maintained by a team of enthusiasts. We are not affiliated with Apple Corps, Universal Music, or any official Beatles entity.
